Akil is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation, Corporate and Employment departments having joined Myers, Fletcher and Gordon in 2014 as a paralegal after completing the Bar Professional Training Course and being called to the Bar. Having made the decision to transfer over to the solicitor’s side of the legal profession he completed his Law Practice Course and training contract.
Akil is a key member of the firm. He has experience in working on various complex contractual disputes, shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims, property litigation and debt recovery and enforcement matters. Akil is an able advocate and has appeared before the court on a number of applications.
Akil has worked with partners and senior associates on major cases including international arbitrations; High Court trials; appeals to the Court of Appeal and appeals to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. He also has advised on corporate transactions, business immigration and intellectual property issues.
